About Beep & Boo

Beep is a robot. Boo is a ghost. Together, they are an unlikely pair passionate about technology. Their blog is a collection of three things: letters to their past selves, reminders for their future selves, and monthly posts about random trinkets of knowledge.

Dear Past Self

In Boo’s past life, when they first started programming, many things were explained but not always understood. It was like listening to the adults in Charlie Brown while wearing headphones.

To this day, Boo continues to run into complicated and technical explanations that have to be broken down into pieces for a ghost to understand. That’s why Boo’s goal is to figure out how to explain the hard stuff in a simple way so even a ghost or robot can understand.

Dear Future Self

Despite having a hard drive for memory, Beep still forgets stuff because, like all programmer’s, Beep’s brain space is limited. In Beep & Boo’s experience as programmers, reusing tools but forgetting how they work happens a lot.

They do this often enough that they have come up with a system to write letters to their future selves explaining how to do things they will likely forget.

Blog

Beep & Boo love to learn new things, so they partnered up to spend time each month to learn  something new. Sometimes they fail and occasionally they succeed in spelling ocasionally. The record of their efforts, discussion, and questions along the way will be blogged about.

Boo

Boo is a lovely ghost with an addiction to caffeine even though they swear they can stop at any time. Their passion for coffee is joined by a passion for technology, art, and education. A humble coder that strives for clean code and enjoys writing documentation, perhaps one might see a unicorn instead of a ghost.

Funnier than Beep and not a robot.

Beep

Beep is a robot who defies the laws of the robot singularity: they love… humanity (among other things). Still, Beep works hard with their fellow machines and has a fun time doing it. They have a strong passion for most everything under the technology umbrella, the top of the list being security, automation, and video games.
